7-YEAR OLD SOCCER RULES (U-7)

 

1.         Most important rule - let the children have fun.

2.         Game field is: Hillside School

3.         Age Group Coordinators:Peggy Maffei 608-0943.

                                                    Rachel Gigger 778-1329

4.         Games are played with 6 players a side, including goalkeeper

5.         Games must start on time even if you do not have enough players.

6.         Games will consist of four 10 minute quarters with a two minute break between quarters, and a five minute halftime break.

7.         All players must have equal playing time and an opportunity to play all positions.

8.         Soccer ball size #4 is used.

9.         Home team provides the game ball and calls the coin toss. Send two captains out to referee as he/she signals.  Home team is the team listed first on the schedule.

10.       There will only indirect kicks.  i.e. the ball must touch another player from either team before it can be kicked into the net for a goal.

11.       There will be no corner kicks.  If the ball goes out the end line, it is a throw in from the corner of the side it went out past the goal.

12.       With the exception of the above modifications, we will abide by the US Youth Soccer Association Rules for U-7 and FIFA laws of soccer.

   Age group coordinator will call rainouts. Make-ups can be played on Sundays.

The home team for 8:30 game on field 1 is responsible for picking up corner flags at Peggy’s (14    Windflower Court, Laurel Ponds)  The home team of the 11:00 game is responsible for  returning

all 8 corner flags to Peggy’s.  Just leave in driveway.

DO NOT RUN UP THE SCORE. If you are winning by three goals, go into control mode. For example, take a player off the field, encourage players to pass and not shoot. Please do this with tact without insulting the opposing players.

 

.           The referee is always correct. Yelling or disputes with the referee will not be tolerated! Good sportsmanship has to come from coaches and parents first - set a good example.

     Remember this is an instructional program and the children come first!

  3. Age Group Coordinator: Lee Barber, and Wendy Friel
  4. Games are played with 8 players a side, including goalkeeper.
  5. Games must start on time even if you do not have enough players.
  6. Games will consist of four 12 minute quarters with a two minute break between quarters.
  7. All players must have equal playing time and an opportunity to play all positions.
  8. Soccer ball size #4 is used.
  9. Home team provides the game ball and calls the coin toss. Send two captains out to referee as he/she signals.
  10. There will be both direct and indirect kicks.

  6. Games will consist of two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute break between halves.
  7. All players must have equal playing time and an opportunity to play all positions.
  8. Soccer ball size #4 is used.
  9. Home team provides the game ball and calls the coin toss. Send two captains out to referee as he/she signals.

  7. All players must have equal playing time and an opportunity to play all positions.
